Inflammation ages us, stressess our systems, can cause chronic pain and negatively impact sleep. Turmeric has been well studied for its benefits on helping lower inflammation. Here is a way to enjoy your anti-inflammatory tumeric instead of taking it in pill form. This recipe can be used as a warm, comroting sleepy time aid.
1 cup real coconut milk (with the healthy fats) or non-dairy milk of choice (like almond or cashew)
2 tsp grassfed butter (unsalted)
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Optional pinch of ground cloves & cardamom (Yum! Especially enticing in colder months)
Optional dash of MCT oil or MCT powder (ketones created from MCT oil can helkp fuel your brains tough work while you are sleeping. (Read Sleep, the Real 411 here)
Optional scoop of collagen peptides (depending of the types of collagen used, it can aid skin, hair, nails, joints, gut health, teeth, heart, muscle and more)
In a microwave safe mug stir in all ingredients. Mircowave for 90 seconds. Stir and test to see if it need another 30 seconds or so. You don't want it scolding but warm enough to combine ingredients well. You can use a small immersion blender or frother to froth it up. I like to blender mine for a few seconds in a glass jar blender.
